Selcom driving Education, Road Safety and Female Empowerment in Kisarawe
6th November 2019, Kisarawe. We continued to embody the spirit of service to the community by taking the time to visit Kisarawe District for a CSI initiative in support of the district’s efforts in education, road safety and female empowerment. Selcom was graciously hosted by the Kisarawe District Commissioner, Hon. Jokate Mwegelo, district officials in-charge of social and youth development. We provided string bags to 250 school children from various schools and orphanages, 250 high-vis reflector jackets to 250 boda boda riders and 250 aprons to mama lishes from around the district.
We also got a chance to engage with young talents from Minaki and Kimani Secondary Schools who are lacking in much needed exposure, inspiration and career guidance to propel them into the future. As an organization that believes in nurturing talents, we plan to engage the districts in a mentorship programme that will see us impart a forward thinking culture. This is just one of the many upcoming initiatives from Selcom to solidify its relationship with the communities that surround us but also build Selcom as a cultured brand.
Very big thank you to the team that made this possible!
