In those early days, we ventured into prepaid airtime distribution and internet offerings


Growth and Diversity

We diversified our portfolio massively

Within a few years we were the first pioneers to begin the entire country’s first bank to wallet and wallet to bank transfers, our 40+ bill payment portfolio, and quickly grew our agent footprint across the country


New Ventures

We offered our services online for the first time

Due to growing demand, Selcom decided to launch the first online platform called Selcom Online to accept local bill payments using debit or credit cards from abroad


Scaling up with New Ventures

We grew our team and ventured into new spaces

As opportunities knocked on our door, we decided to venture into a budding need for an easy and secure merchant payment solutions with Selcom Pay. We also ventured into Selcom Card.


Firming Partnerships

We partnered with Mastercard to launch multiple products

In 2017, we partnered with Mastercard, as their Go-To-Market partner in Tanzania, to pair up SelcomPay and Masterpass QR to expand our growth and base across the nation. Our scope was not limited to this, and there were spaces such as Issuing and Acquiring for us to explore together.
