Selcom is Tanzania’s premier fintech and digital payments leader,
championing financial inclusion and enabling seamless digital transactions
across the region. As we scale our operations, we seek a strategic,
technology-driven, and execution-focused Head of Marketing to lead our
marketing vision, elevate Selcom and its brands, and drive growth on a
national, regional, and global scale.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Tech-First Marketing Leadership
Develop and execute innovative, data-driven marketing strategies tailored to the fintech, digital banking, e-commerce and payments ecosystems.
Leverage advanced analytics and technology to optimize campaign performance and customer acquisition.
Positioning & Product-Market Fit
Create compelling, customer-centric narratives to position Selcom’s digital financial services for maximum market adoption and resonance.
Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and ensure alignment with customer needs and competitive landscapes.
Brand Building
Elevate Selcom and its sub-brands to achieve household name status in
Tanzania and establish recognition as a leading fintech player across Africa and globally.
Develop and implement cohesive brand strategies that enhance visibility, credibility, and trust.
Growth & Distribution
Design and deploy hybrid distribution strategies combining Fast-Moving
Consumer Goods (FMCG) principles with digital-first, viral growth tactics to accelerate user adoption.
Optimize customer acquisition funnels and retention strategies to drive scalable growth.
Media & Public Relation
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local and international media, regulators, government entities, clients, and fintech communities to amplify Selcom’s presence.
• Represent Selcom in high-profile industry forums and events to enhance brand authority.
Reputation Management
• Oversee crisis communication strategies, ensuring proactive management of public perception and stakeholder trust.
• Develop and implement robust PR frameworks to maintain a positive brand image across diverse audiences.
Team Leadership
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team to execute impactful campaigns that drive awareness, adoption, and customer loyalty.
Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and collaboration within the marketing function.

Team Management: Expertise in leading diverse teams, managing external agencies, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal, written, and negotiation skills, with proficiency in modern PR, digital marketing, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
